At Yarn Haul, we keep prices low by shipping your yarn directly from factories in China to your door.

Once your order is placed, preparation begins. Your yarn bundles are carefully picked, loosely tied with string, packed into durable bags, then compressed ready for boxing and export.

This preparation process usually takes around 2–3 days.

Once prepared, your order is booked onto the next available sailing. After arriving in the United States, your parcel is handed to a local courier for final delivery, which usually takes a further 3-5 business days.

Canadian shipments - please allow 7-10 days for ground delivery.

Our advertised delivery estimate across the USA is 18–20 business days on average. (25-28 Calendar Days)

Please note that this is an estimated delivery timeframe, not a guaranteed delivery date.

Because Yarn Haul uses an international factory-direct shipping model, some parts of the journey are outside of our control. Delays can occasionally happen due to:

  • Sailing schedules
  • Export processing in China
  • Customs inspections
  • US/Canadian import processing
  • Port delays
  • Final courier handling
  • Weather or other logistics disruptions

Most orders arrive within the advertised timeframe, but some parcels may take longer if they are selected for customs inspection or delayed during international transit.

Customs inspections are random and handled by the relevant authorities. Yarn Haul cannot control, speed up, cancel, or prevent customs checks. In rare cases, customs clearance can add extra time to delivery.

Once an order has been dispatched and entered the international shipping network, it cannot usually be cancelled, recalled, or stopped while in transit.

We will always do our best to keep you updated if your parcel is affected by a delay.

Why Your Yarn Is Compressed

To keep shipping costs as low as possible and make smaller factory-direct orders affordable, your yarn is compressed for transit. This helps us offer genuinely competitive pricing without compromising on quality.

When your order arrives, please take care when cutting the strap-bands around the woven bag, as they are secured tightly for shipping.

Your yarn may look slightly compressed when first opened, but this is completely normal. A quick fluff between your hands, or gently running the strands through the end of a kitchen whisk, will help restore its full softness and shape.

It is important to know that this is not low-grade, overly compressed yarn like you may find from online marketplaces and sellers. Our yarn is manufactured to a high standard and is the same quality supplied to major craft retailers across the United States.

That means you receive the same premium quality yarn, just prepared for shipping in the most cost-effective way possible.
